About Us
Old Coolattin Country Ltd. (OCC Ltd.), a voluntary group, was formed in 1991 to address rural disadvantage in the Carnew area, which suffered from rural depopulation and geographical and social marginalisation.
In 1995, the company set up Carnew Enterprise Centre to be a focal point in the town for training and services. Its function also included linking in with national agencies to tackle the underlying social exclusion issues in the area: poor educational attainment, unemployment, no access to transport and training, and low self-esteem.
The Centre’s role is to achieve the aims and objectives of OCC Ltd, to facilitate a self-help culture so that people in marginalised circumstances can improve their social and economic lives by accessing training and services as a means of empowerment.
Aim:
OCC Ltd, through Carnew Enterprise Centre, aims to build the capacity of the people living in rural South Wicklow, enabling them as individuals and members of our community to generate growth and sustainability for themselves and the area.
We endeavour to provide a quality service that allows for the acquisition and development of skills and knowledge at all levels. All those seeking to enrol on programmes will be treated equally in accordance with legislation.
